he won't be, devils just aren't carrying a "goon" this year and they'll be better for it. They can now run out there 4 good lines ands go back to "Devil Hockey" where everybody plays and not just 1 guy (Kovy) trying to do it all by himself.

I agree unless Lou over ranks Pete again (which according to TG from F&I I think Pete wanted to keep Barch) and decides to move (either waive or trade) Gio. Lou said something on F&I about NOT wanting to pay NHL salaries in the minors which he would have to do with Tedneby (and Barch if he was still here) if he cleared waivers but not with Gio (2-way deal).-Gambi99

That's right I forgot Teddy isn't on a 2 way deal. Pete did seem to want Barch on the team it's entirely possible Lou will out rank him again on the Gio decision.

Smart trade. Cam will not be on opening night roster. Carter & Bernier can handle that role. Cam can always be called up.

I am generally a Janssen fan when it comes to tough guys but he has been far from impressive this pre season. He needs to pick up his game and start beating fools up. The sad thing is he hasn't even really got any punches going in any of his scraps yet. He just can't get things going.

I like this trade only if it means that the Devils will not carry an enforcer on their NHL Roster. If it means that Janssen is making the team, I will be very unhappy.
Timmins will be a nice addition to the Albany Devils.

He has gotten worse every year since he came in. I like the guy too but he provides nothing. He's now always a few strides too late to throw a hit, can't win any fights anymore, and has no hands to speak of. When he first came on the scene i thought he would be able to be a good 4th liner but he has lost all the speed he use to show.

Yea I understand that. But I am on board with having a guy who can't play hockey but can beat the piss out of people in the system. Guys like that don't need to play every night or even most nights. Having a legit heavy weight in the system let's other teams know they won't be taking liberties on our players and we have some young guys we need to make that next step and they likely wont if they suffer a cheap shot from a plug like a Rinaldo. Basically in short I am very much on board with having a heavy weight ( a good one ) but also think he should only play in a few games when needed vs the Toronto's, Buffalo's, Boston's ect.

Basically it allows us to have the game played the way we want it. I think we have enough toughness on this team where i don't think anyone will be taking runs without having any sort of retribution. Carter, Bernie, Clowe, and im Sure Bryce would step up if it came down to it.

Yea but my brother is a Wings fan so you can see why I am the total opposite. It's not like Tough teams have never beaten the Red Wings. I agree an overall team toughness is a lot better then 1 or 2 goons who can only play 3 minutes a game but good luck prying Lucic from Boston. I would be ecstatic if Lucic played for us. Probably one of my top 3 favorite players in the game !
